British Teacher Jailed in Sudan

HOW ridiculous that a British teacher has been jailed in Sudan for naming a teddy bear Mohammed.

No offence was meant by Gillian Gibbons.

Her decision to spend time teaching and helping children in Sudan was born out of a desire to help, not insult, local people.

All that was needed from the authorities was some common sense.

Why not give Gillian some cultural guidance and point out why naming the teddy Mohammed was so offensive and provide an explanatory lesson for the children too?

This jail sentence and threats of lashings give Islam a bad name it does not deserve.

When are extremist Muslims going to come into he world of 2007. And behave like normal human beings.
