More Chinese whispers

The cloud of uncertainty has lifted over St Andrew's . . . or has it?

That was Steve Bruce's hope following the meeting with Carson Yeung and his associates.

Yeung said all the right things - the takeover would happen, Bruce would stay as manager, there would be money to spend (although no figures have yet been agreed).

It left Bruce in a more relaxed frame of mind and positive about the forthcoming weeks and months.

Not that the Blues boss is getting carried away and thinking that an Ambramovich-type investor is riding into town to help catapult the club towards the Champions League.

Neither is David Sullivan or the rest of the board.
In a nutshell, seeing is believing for all of them.

Until Yeung produces the £35 million needed to complete a full buyout, they will remain cautiously optimistic.

He has until the end of December to do so and is revving things up back in Hong Kong, where he plans to raise money via shares in Grandtop International, his takeover vehicle.

He has also splashed out £10 million on a house in Wimbledon and is to enrol his son in a school over here.

Certainly, after the recent misgivings, rumour and lack of communication between the Far East and St Andrew's, Bruce can at least concentrate on his team's task in the Premier League and
supporters can rest a little easier.

Yeung has been made aware of the players Bruce is looking to add in January.

And a striker playing in Europe is top of his list.

Footnote: further to the last blog on the Wast Hills railings, it can be revealed that they have been repainted a 'proper' club royal blue and sprucing up work has got underway at the training ground HQ in West Heath. Bruce will be bugged no more . . .

BlueandProud:

I am so pleased about the railings, you wouldn't believe the sleep I lost over it !!!

Great insight into the feeling at the club. David Gold stated on national radio he felt Mr. Yeung had the wealth of the (Man Utd) Glazers. I would trust our current board to check the credentials of any new owner. It could be a case of mr. Yeung "borrowing" £xm for the purchase and some transfer activity at Blues and then hope to reap that, and more, back from "franchaising" the club in his home continent.

Also I am intrigued as to what the exact backing the Chinese government has/ can give to Mr. Yeung.

Timw will reveal all

Sum Yung Guy:

I hope he take over. small heath need good chinese restaurant.
