Colin for Blues?

Simon Jordan and Neil Warnock, the 'dream ticket' according to the Crystal Palace chairman.

Gawd help us.

But smile not, Blues fans. Imagine Warnock down St Andrew's way?

Not so far fetched, actually.

Warnock was a serious contender for the manager's job back in the day.

David Sullivan has always liked Warnock's ability to organise, motivate and get results on limited resources.

And when Trevor Francis was put on his bike, Warnock was up there among the replacements being seriously considered.

Had Steve Bruce not untangled himself from the legalities of leaving/quitting/being sacked by Jordan, you never know . . .

Warnock has always been complimentary to Blues board in his public comments as well.

Sullivan has always been a fan of Mick McCarthy's too, going back to his time with Ireland.

BlueandProud:

Neil Warnock would of been interesting. I am not a fan of his criticisms when things go against his teams it would have been like the Barry Fry era with 27 strikers and a comment a day.

Mick McCarthy would be excellent for Blues though I think the opportunity has gone now. He did an excellent job at Sunderland and was a victim of his own success. He overachieved in gaining promotion so quickly and was given no money to spend by Premiership standards.

One consistent area of feedback from Blues fans in recent seasons has been the style of football - hoofball and boring seem to have been the favourite words. McCarthy has shown you can achieve success by playing football and by picking up bargains. His teams are a pleasure to watch and his honesty is refreshing.

If we were to have a new manager, and I think SB has earned the right so far this season to continue, it does not take a genius to work out he may be from abroad

Zuluforeva:

I think your are misreading this, Warnock and McCarthy were considered years ago, they are not candidates now. As for McCarthy, his brand of football would go down like the proverbial sack of spuds at St Andrew's. He's a basic, route one man and Bruce, IMO, is a far better manager anyway. Also Blues have been playing some excellent football the last 18 months it's just that too many fans have already made up their minds and can't see the woods for the trees

Michael McIndoe:

Steady on Zulu...I seem to remember Wolves giving Blues a right going over for most of the game at the end of last season.
Now if only I could score from a penalty.......

BlueandProud:

Zulu,

Good try, no winding me up though ! My original post was mostly about the past tense and if you ask most Millwall, Sunderland and Wolves fans etc they overall state McCarthy's team play football in the right manner. IMO Blues are playing better football this season, last season it was not pretty but "effective" and for two seasons previously the football and team were going backwards. Some fans look at the whole picture of recent years and this season is better for style of football, let's not kid ourselves and say we played in this manner previously

Frank S:

how come francis was on his bike? Dont they have motor vehicles in Brummigem?

Bernie Clifton:

Hey, Frank S, really funny! You should be a comedian or alternatively go to the Hawthorns where there's loads of them.
Mr McIndoe: when is you next match in the Blue Square North Banks's Premier Midland Combination, or whichever league you play in?
