The situation at the tea interval

Tea. Lancashire 76 for 2 (24 overs). Horton 45, Law 12.

Warwickshire's seamers (led by Carter's 6-2-10-1) have plugged away nobly enough, as they have done all season. But so pitiful was the batting that the bowlers have an impossible job to do.

A gentleman just entered the press box and inquired: "Who's here from the Yorkshire Post?"
It was gently pointed out to him that the Roses Match here was, in fact, in July.

Paul D:

As this game looks like it could be all over tomorrow, has MG invited you, George and Clive to a 'last supper'?

It would be fun to have a crucifixcion on the Rea Bank Sunday!

balsall heathen:

are there many Bears fans there?
are they making themselves heard?

brian:

Paul, I suspect that such an invitation will not be forthcoming - although I have to say supper with MG I can do without.
Did you find that book, by the way?
Heathen, not many travelling Bears here what with it being a midweeker. They're probably off somewhere doing something relatively pleasureable. Like having root canal surgery.

Paul D:

Mr Iverson has been located, I somehow think that even at his best he'd struggle to get us back into this game.

Listening to a very depressing online comentary, the overwhelming impression is that Warwicks are totally outclassed (again).

Have you ever covered a more depressing season, in any sport?

brian:

No!

kim:

All the signs for this were there last year - in neon.

brian:

Quite. The worry is, having unfathomably allowed the disarray to drag on so long, how long will it take to repair and rebuild it all.
