Ladies and gentlemen, one last post (I won't be blogging Sunday's game - I'm off to lie down in a darkened room for a month) to say that, post-match, Mark Greatbatch said he will meet the chief executive on Monday and have a "season's debrief" on Tuesday but he would be "very disappointed" not to return to Edgbaston next year.
I think he might be in for a disappointment.
Thanks again for all your comments on and interest in this blog and your company and general pleasure-to-knowness around the grounds this season. Cheers, all.

Thanks for the blog Brian. I've only discovered in it the past couple of weeks, but you've kept me entertained at work when I couldn't get to watch the cricket.
I've been blogging The Bears myself on
http://raggybear.blogspot.com/
although I'm not up to your standards!!

Thanks for all the stories Brian. The humour you have picked up on in the grounds and been able to elucidate into blog format has been cathartic in some way, helping us all through this gut wrenching period. Ill try and introduce myself next season.
May you winter well...

Thanks, Brian.
Just got home from school to see we're good as down.
At the start of the season, I thought there could be no better job than watching Warwickshire.
After this season, I realise how wrong I was...

Great Job Brian - with all the possibilities of the next few weeks, perhaps you may need to keep an out of season blog going - with the same humour.... we may need it ;-)

Any chance of this rubbish season ending on a massive high with mass resignations on Sunday night?

I wish Ashley all the best but just think he needs someone more experienced than A.D alongside him. What about D.A instead?
Dennis Amiss knows cricket inside out.

I wish Ashley well but rather than the equally inexperienced A.D alongside him why not go for D.A.
A giles/amiss ticket could take us back to the top.

Our two most qualified coaches are probably Dougie and Michael.

The best thing about Ashley Giles coming in is his contacts. Surely we should get a top-notch overseas player next season after so much hit and miss over the last few years.
Anyone know if Martin Love's knee is fixed now? He'd do.

Martin Love is not a strike bowler, our batsmen can do a job, we just need a 50 or more wicket taking bowler.

Got home tonight to find the car covered, on three sides, by a striking mural of black, white and grey. The sooner seagulls are extinct the better and if there is anything at all I can do to bring about that happy state of affairs as soon as possible just let me know.

Warwickshire's talks with Dougie on Monday were just about the possibilities for his future role at the club really and did not culminate in a job offer. One will probably follow at some point though.
The Bears are pursuing their interest in Boyd Rankin, by the way, but have cooled on Niall O'Brien.

Shame about Shantry. I wish him well at Glamorgan. He probably just needed to work with someone like allan donald to unlock his potential.
