Play has been abandoned for the day due to sunshine!! The glare at the Stretford Road end means that the last 13 overs were lost.
If the game was a closer contest, Lancashire, right in the running for the title, might have had a bit to say about it. Irrespective of that, the spectators have been robbed of an hour's entertainment.
Sometimes, cricket really shouldn't be allowed out...

never mind the hypothetical 'Lancashire in the running for the title'... what about the very real Blog prediction competition?
I've checked my Duckworth/Lewis calculator (it's like a normal calculator, only you drop a tennis ball on it three times to come up with an answer) ... and I win.

Mr Heathen, I have no record of you actually entering the competition.
By the way, the goalpost-moving, rule-waiving, book-burning military junta that seized control of the competition last night has ordered a rematch. It now goes to the lunchtime score today.
I'm going for 198 for 8.

I am now informed that, using calculations similar to those employed by Robert Mugabe at election time, the competition has been awarded to John.

I love this post. What is the meaning of the comment before? I am wondering what the thought was there?

Hello and congratulations on your post. I found it via Google. Though I couldn’t read the whole of it, maybe I should blame my sloppy Internet connection. It got hanged each time I tried your links. Hope things work in future. Anyways, keep blogging.

Very informative post and I kind of agree with you (except on two points) on what you said. Keep the good work going. Your writing style is very good and I was able to understand the post clearly even though English is my second language. PS: I have already subscribed to the blog RSS feed.
