Should we all agree to be organ donors?

IF you have any doubts about recent calls for everyone to be considered an organ donor unless they opt out just look at today's picture of little Erin Nicks.

The bright-eyed, curly haired tot is facing a race against time to find a donor for her second liver transplant.

Yet the odds are against her. More than 7,000 people in the UK are currently waiting for life-saving transplants. But only 260 organs have been provided since April 1.

Agreeing to donate the organs of a loved-one must be the hardest decision a family ever has to make.

Treating everyone as a potential donor unless they make it clear they want to opt out
would surely take away that anguish and save thousands of lives.
