MINISTERS and officials must listen to the concerns of Kitts Green residents campaigning against the opening of a Probation Service drop-in centre in their area.
But, equally, the protesters must ask themselves some hard questions.
If they accept the need for such a centre so that offenders can receive the supervision and help they need if they are to live law-abiding lives then it has to be located somewhere.
So where do the Kitts Green campaigners say it should be opened?
Their concerns, however, are understandable.
It is up to the Home Office and West Midlands Probation Service to ensure that the centre, where ever it it based, is properly run so that it poses no threat to anyone.
