Happy birthday to you...

CENTRAL Trains celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their train service operation today - but commuters using stations from Shenstone to Lichfield Trent Valley on the cross-city line might be forgiven for not feeling in the party mood.

As Central Trains lit the candles on their cake, their managing director Steve Banaghan was busy singing the praises of their passengers and staff:

“The past ten years have not been always been easy, but we have always worked hard to listen to our passengers and provide the service they deserve. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their loyalty and custom. “Most of all, I’d like to thank our staff for ten years of hard dedication and hard work, and wish them well for their future in the rail industry.

And the service anyone living beyond the station at Blake Street deserve?

The first two trains of the day cancelled and an over 30-minute wait in the freezing cold on platforms.

Party hats all round!
